Recognition, Felicitation and Awards :-

  • Hindi Academy, Delhi (Delhi Government Organisation) awarded a grant for her book ‘Vigyan ke Majedar Khel’ under ‘Prakashan Sahyog Yojna’ in 1994.
  • Her book on Korean Martial Art – ‘Taekwondo’ was released on 15th January 1996 by the then President of India, Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma. This book is believed to be the first Hindi book on this martial art.
  • Hindi Academy, Delhi (Delhi Government Organisation) awarded a grant for her book ‘Samayayen Bachhon ki’ under Prakashan Sahyog Yojna in the year 2000.
  • Her book ‘Vishwa ki Mahan Vaigyanik Mahilayen’ was released by Ex-minister Natwar Singh in 2000.
  • Publication Division which is under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, has also awarded her the ‘Bhartendu Harish Chandra Puraskar’ in the field of children literature for her book ‘Aagey Bhadti Bhartiya Mahilayen’ in the year 2000
  • In 2000, Publication Division organised a great function to release her book ‘Vishw Ki Nobel Puraskar Vijeta Mahilayen’.
  • Hindi Academy, Delhi (Delhi Government Organisation) gave her the award ‘Bal Sahitya Samman’ for her book ‘Vishwa ki Mahaan Vaigyanik Mahiyaen.’ The award was given by renowned film artist Johra Sehgal on 31st March, 2001.
  • Information and Broadcasting Minister Sushma Swaraj gave her ‘Bhartendu Harish Chandra Award’ in children books category for her book ‘Aagey Bardi Bhartiya Mahilayen’ on 5th July, 2001. This award was given on behalf of Publication Division, Government of India.
  • She published a children’s magazine ‘Bal Manch’ and was the editor of the magazine. It was published under the name of Nehru Bal Samiti.
  • Now she is the co-editor of a family magazine – Jahanvi. She is looking after it since 1995.
  • She has also produced and directed many programmes for Doordarshan and written scripts for programmes on the same channel.
  • She is associated with Radio FM Gold and done many programmes for F.M. Radio.
  • She is associated with a social organization ‘Care’.
  • Her book “kalpana chawla” was released by the CBSE chairman Mr. Bala Subramanium in August 2005.
  • She was honoured by Red Cross in 2008 for donating blood for more than 10 times.
  • In 2015, Chitra Garg has been awarded Raj Bhasha Gaurav Award for her book ‘Mobile Apps aur Software’ by the Home Ministry of India. The award was presented by the President, Pranav Mukherjee in the presence of Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Minister of State-Home Kiran Rijuju on 14th Sep., 2015.
